VISITFLANDERS, Westtoer, Tourism East Flanders, Tourism Province of Antwerp, Tourism Flemish Brabant and Visit Limburg rolled out nine iconic cycling routes as a framework for more cycling holidays in Flanders. With this new offering of themed long-distance cycling routes, the project partners aim to further develop Flanders into a top cycling holiday destination.
Framed in the cooperation agreement 'Touristic and recreational cycling in Flanders 2020-2025', Tourism Flanders and the five Flemish provincial services are making a total of almost 1.5 million euros available for this purpose. The project focuses on structured consultation between all Flemish cycling partners, exchange of knowledge and data, sector cooperation and communication to the sector and the holiday cyclist. A multilingual central information offer is provided and campaigns are rolled out to promote the cycling holiday offer at home and abroad. By means of continuous research, the project partners keep their finger on the pulse to further fine-tune the cycling holiday product.
